The Highest Rated Wal-Mart Organizing Products (Tested!)
Walmart actually has some surprisingly good organizing products! And it's not just random bins with a bunch of vague five-star reviews, either. I’m talking about organizing products that are sold by Walmart itself, available at my local store, and have genuinely strong ratings from a lot of reviewers.
So I bought a bunch of them and tested them out. If you want to see what performed and what didn't, keep reading, or check out the video here!

If you’ve watched my videos before, you know I don’t hold back! I wanted to know whether these products are actually useful in real life, not just whether they look nice in a product photo. I’m always looking at the good, the bad, and the annoying little details that make something either worth buying or not worth the space in your house.
For this roundup, every product had to meet two standards:
-
It had to be sold by Walmart directly
-
It had to have at least a 4.6-star average and at least 500 reviews
That may not sound like much compared to Amazon numbers, but for Walmart, that is actually pretty significant—especially since I suspect they sell a lot more of these products in-store than online.
So these were truly some of Walmart’s most highly rated organizing products.
And after testing them all, I definitely had favorites.
How I judged these Walmart organizing products
I wasn’t looking at technical specs or marketing claims. I was looking at how these products actually function in a real home.
Here’s what mattered most to me:
-
Quality and sturdiness
-
Ease of use
-
Space efficiency
-
Whether the sizing made sense in actual cabinets, drawers, shelves, and closets
-
Whether I would personally keep it in my own home
-
Overall value for the price
Some of these products were genuinely impressive.
Some were decent, but not right for how I organize.
And a few just didn’t make enough sense to justify the space they would take up.
1. Mainstays Multi-Purpose Bins

These bins were one of the best performers in the entire test.
They come in two sizes, and right away I could tell the quality was very solid. The plastic is flexible, but not flimsy. The handles feel good, and the smooth front makes them easy to label if you want to.
Most of the reviews praised how versatile they are, and I completely agree. These would work well in a pantry, under the sink, in a closet, or even for general household storage.
They are also very clearly a dupe for the Container Store’s multi-purpose bins. If you’ve seen my other comparison videos, you know I have a lot to say about that. But on their own, these Walmart versions are very, very good.
I tested them in my pantry against the Container Store bins I already use, and they fit almost the same. One size was just a tiny bit snugger—probably only by about an eighth of an inch—but still fit well enough to use without any issue.
My main complaint is that Walmart only offers two sizes. That limits how flexible the system can be if you want everything to coordinate across multiple spaces.
Still, for the price, they are excellent.
My rating: 5 out of 5
Why they worked so well:
-
Sturdy without being bulky
-
Easy to carry with comfortable handles
-
Great for pantry and cabinet use
-
Excellent value
-
Clean, simple look
These were one of my top overall picks.
2. Mainstays Screw-Top Canisters

These are the plastic canisters with screw-on lids that come in two sizes.
Overall, I liked these more than I expected to.
The larger size is especially practical. Reviewers mentioned using them for flour, pet food, crafts, and all kinds of household storage, and I could absolutely see that. They’re easy to grip, even when full, and the lid feels secure once it’s screwed on.
The plastic is not ultra-thick, but it also doesn’t feel cheap. Unless you’re storing something unusually heavy, I don’t think sturdiness is a real concern.
I tested the larger one with a standard 5-pound bag of flour, and it almost fit perfectly. I spilled a little while pouring, but that was definitely user error, not the container’s fault. It also fit a full bag of sugar, which was nice.
Where these fell a little short for me was space efficiency. In an upper cabinet, they work fine, but they take up more height than my preferred Tupperware setup, which means I can’t store quite as much in the same amount of space.
So while these are good, they are not my personal gold standard.
My rating: 4.7 out of 5
Best for:
-
Flour and sugar
-
Larger pantry staples
-
Crafts or office supplies
-
Anyone who wants a budget-friendly canister with a secure screw lid
3. Refrigerator Storage Bin Set

This was the product I was most excited to try.
My refrigerator and freezer are two of the hardest places for me to keep organized, so I really wanted these to wow me.
And to be fair, the product itself is nice.
These bins are sturdy, clear, and well-made. The pull-out handles are great. The plastic is thicker than I expected, and they look really good.
But once I started actually using them in my fridge, the concept fell apart a little.
They worked okay for things like yogurt, broth, and fruit, but I kept running into wasted space. The dimensions just didn’t make the most of my refrigerator shelves. I often couldn’t fit items efficiently, and there was awkward extra room behind the bins that annoyed me.
That’s not entirely Walmart’s fault. Refrigerator shelves vary a lot, and it’s hard to make a one-size-fits-all product for that. But in practice, I just didn’t find these especially helpful.
I could see myself using one for produce like kiwis or maybe corraling a specific category of items. But I would not use the whole set.
My rating: 3 out of 5
The issue wasn’t the quality. It was the functionality.
4. Mainstays Cereal Dispensers

These were a pleasant surprise.
There were two versions: a smaller 24-cup dispenser and a larger 32-cup dispenser. The big selling point here is capacity, and these really delivered.
The smaller one held a family-size cereal box with room to spare. The larger one held one of those giant bulk cereal bags, which is honestly unusual. I haven’t seen many cereal containers that can do that.
That alone makes these worth considering if you buy large cereal packages.
A few things I liked:
-
Good value compared to pricier acrylic options
-
Easy to pour from
-
Nice clear look
-
Useful handle design
-
Great capacity
My biggest complaint was the sticker on the larger dispenser. It was hard to remove and left residue, which always irritates me. Also, these are very tall, so you need to check your cabinet height before buying.
For me, they wouldn’t fit in every cabinet, but they would work well in a pantry or taller shelf.
My rating: 4 out of 5
A great budget option if you want cereal containers without spending a lot.
5. Fabric Cube Storage Bin for IKEA KALLAX-Style Shelves

This is the larger collapsible fabric cube bin, the kind that fits nicely into cube shelves.
There’s not much dramatic to say here because it did exactly what it should do.
It opened easily, looked nice, fit well, and had a handle that genuinely made it look a little more elevated than some other fabric bins. It slid into the shelf neatly, held a lot, and worked just like you would want it to.
Will these warp over time? Yes, probably. Most bins like this do.
But for the price and for what it is, I thought it was a great option.
My rating: 5 out of 5
What I liked most:
-
Good value
-
Nice neutral look
-
Handle adds a nicer finish
-
Fits standard cube shelving well
-
Easy to pull in and out
If I needed this style of bin, this would absolutely be a contender.
6. Smaller Fabric Storage Bin
This smaller collapsible fabric bin also performed well, but it’s more dependent on where you plan to use it.
In a large cube shelf like an IKEA KALLAX, it leaves too much unused space for my taste. But on smaller shelves, it works really well.
I tested it on a standard shelf and liked it much better there. It would also fit perfectly in Walmart’s own smaller cube shelf systems.
So this is one of those products where the right application matters a lot.
My rating: 5 out of 5 for what it is
Not ideal for every shelf, but a solid product.
7. Plastic Drawer Organizers

These come in a set of five and have cute colors, which some people will love and some won’t.
I actually thought they were better quality than I expected. They’re flexible, which can be a real advantage in drawers. If your drawer dimensions are just a little off, flexible organizers can sometimes fit where rigid acrylic ones won’t.
That said, the biggest drawback is the limited size selection.
My favorite drawer organizers have more size variety, which makes them easier to fit neatly into different drawers. With these, I just couldn’t get as clean or efficient a layout.
There’s nothing wrong with them. I just wouldn’t choose them over better-fitting options unless they happened to work perfectly for a specific drawer.
My rating: 4 out of 5
8. Snack Box with Individual Containers

This was one of the most fun products to test.
It’s a large outer container with eight smaller lidded containers inside, and I can absolutely see why it gets such enthusiastic reviews. It feels sturdy, the latches are secure, and the individual containers are genuinely useful.
I tested it with crackers, dried fruit, cookies, and Goldfish, and it worked really well. This would be especially fun for:
-
Road trips
-
Sports events
-
School snacks
-
Portioning out snacks for kids
-
Charcuterie-style snack prep
I also liked that the individual containers could be used separately, which makes it more flexible.
That said, I personally do not love unitaskers. If I were going to prep snacks, I’d probably use small baggies or simple containers I already own rather than keep up with a larger specialized item.
So while I think it’s a good product, it’s not one I’d keep.
My rating: 4 out of 5
9. Bulk Food Storage Containers

These were one of the most impressive products in the whole video.
They come in two large sizes and are designed for bulk pantry storage. If you buy rice, flour, oats, beans, or pet food in bigger quantities, these make a lot of sense.
What stood out most to me:
-
They hold a ton
-
They have handles
-
They stack in a truly modular way
-
The smaller and larger versions line up beautifully
-
The built-in pour spout is a clever feature
I tested them with flour and cereal, and the capacity was genuinely impressive. The smaller one held an entire bag of flour. The larger one could handle very large quantities.
I also loved that you could stack the two sizes together neatly and they stayed aligned. That kind of true modularity always gets points from me.
My one hesitation is the airtightness. The inner mechanism is smart, but the lid itself didn’t feel as secure as I’d want for long-term pantry storage.
So I loved the concept, the stacking, and the size—but I’m a little skeptical of the seal.
My rating: 4.3 out of 5
These were another top pick for the right household.
10. Sterilite 3-Drawer Storage System

I understand why people like it. It’s versatile, inexpensive, and could be used in an office, kitchen, craft area, or toy space. It fits paper nicely, and it can corral a lot of random stuff.
But it wobbles.
And once you put any real weight in it, that wobbliness becomes a problem. If you stack them, the drawers get harder to open, and the whole thing just feels more frustrating than helpful.
I know some people use these and are perfectly happy with them. But personally, I would rather use open bins stacked vertically than deal with flimsy plastic drawers.
My rating: 2.5 out of 5
This was one of my lowest-rated items in the entire test.
11. Clear Acrylic Shoe Storage Boxes

If you like a clean, elevated closet look, these are very tempting.
They are sturdier than I expected, the clear acrylic look is really nice, and I can absolutely see why people love them. Compared to more basic plastic shoe boxes, these look much more polished.
They also worked well for actual shoes, and I could think of lots of other uses too.
The only real downside is the price. They cost almost twice as much as more basic alternatives. So this is not the budget choice. It’s the prettier choice.
If I didn’t already own other shoe storage boxes, I would be seriously tempted to switch to these.
My rating: 5 out of 5
These made my top three.
12. Better Homes & Gardens Pantry Flip-Tite Containers

These had strong reviews and seemed promising.
I liked that they stacked in a fairly modular way, and the locking mechanism felt more secure than I expected at first. Compared to OXO-style containers, the lids actually felt a little harder to accidentally pull off.
But after testing them, I ran into the same issue I’ve had with similar systems before: they are bulky, not especially space-efficient, and the sizes didn’t match what I actually need to store.
The biggest container worked well for flour. The next one worked for sugar. But the smaller sizes didn’t line up naturally with how I stock my baking cabinet.
And because they only come as a set, you can’t customize your sizes.
So while I don’t think these are bad, I also don’t think they’re a great fit unless the exact size assortment happens to work for your pantry.
My rating: 3 out of 5
13. Mainstays Canister Set

This is Walmart’s budget canister set, and it definitely feels budget.
The value is good. That’s the main appeal.
But the lids did not feel very airtight, the sizing felt awkward, and the canisters weren’t especially modular or space-efficient. They also didn’t stack particularly well.
A full bag of flour fit in the largest canister, and a full bag of sugar fit in the next size down, which was nice. But after that, I wasn’t sure what I’d realistically use the smaller sizes for.
These might work better for someone who wants the look of pantry canisters at a very affordable price and doesn’t mind some compromises.
For me, though, they didn’t do enough well enough.
My rating: 2.5 out of 5
14. Mainstays Easy Access Bins

These are the white bins with the cut-out front.
The quality was fine. The plastic felt decently sturdy, and the handles were nice.
But I really struggled to see why I would use these over a more space-efficient multipurpose bin. The shape wastes space, especially on shelves, and they don’t feel very modular.
They’re not bad. I just don’t think they’re the best option for most situations.
My rating: 3 out of 5
15. Mainstays Storage Bins

These simple plastic bins came in small and large sizes and were actually more useful than I first expected.
At first, I didn’t love the shape because they flare outward, which wastes some space. I also didn’t love that they come in so few sizes compared to better bin systems.
But then I tested them in a closet, and that changed my opinion.
In a closet setting, especially for frequently used items, they worked really well. They were easy to reach into, easy to label, and a nice size for things like:
-
Microfiber cloths
-
Small tools
-
Thermometer supplies
-
First aid items
-
Clothing accessories
So while I still think multi-purpose bins are the better overall system, these ended up earning a place because they were so practical in the right spot.
My rating: 4.5 out of 5
And these were actually staying in my home.
16. Sterilite 18-Gallon Storage Bin

This one is pretty straightforward.
If you need a basic large storage tote, this is a solid option.
It’s not airtight, and the plastic is not indestructible, but it’s sturdy enough for normal use, and clearly a lot of people have had good experiences with it. I also liked the overall look of the opaque version better than clear bins, because it creates a more uniform appearance.
There wasn’t anything especially exciting here, but it did what it was supposed to do.
My rating: 5 out of 5
My top 3 Walmart organizing products
After testing everything, these were my top three overall picks.
1. Mainstays Multi-Purpose Bins
These are just so good for the price. They’re versatile, sturdy, useful in lots of places, and easy to recommend.
2. Clear Acrylic Shoe Boxes
These are beautiful and functional. Definitely more of a splurge, but if you want a more elevated storage look, they are very tempting.
3. Bulk Food Storage Containers
If you buy pantry items in bulk, these are fantastic. I love the handles, the modular stacking, and the large capacity.
Final thoughts
Walmart actually has some genuinely good organizing products.
Not everything was a winner, but there were several items that impressed me, especially for the price. The biggest standouts tended to be the products that were either highly versatile or truly offered something hard to find elsewhere.
The biggest disappointments were the products that wasted too much space or looked useful in theory but didn’t function especially well in real cabinets, drawers, or shelves.
That’s always the real test.
A product can have amazing reviews and still not be the right fit for your actual home.
But if you’re looking for affordable organizing options and want to skip some of the trial and error, these are the Walmart products I’d pay attention to first:
-
Mainstays Multi-Purpose Bins
-
Clear Acrylic Shoe Boxes
-
Bulk Food Storage Containers
-
Fabric Cube Bins
-
Cereal Dispensers if you need budget cereal storage
And the ones I’d personally skip?
-
The flimsy 3-drawer storage system
-
The cheaper canister set
-
The refrigerator bin set unless you already know the dimensions will work well in your fridge
