My Honest Take on Target’s Organizing Products
Target is one of my favorite places to shop for organizing products. But let’s be honest… just because something looks cute on the shelf does not mean it’s actually going to work well in real life.
Some of these products seriously impressed me.
Others? Not so much.
And of course, I’m giving you the full honest review: the good, the bad, and the “this would drive me crazy after three days.” To hear my hot take LOL, keep reading or check out the video here.
The Adjustable Acrylic Bin Was Surprisingly Useful

One of the most interesting products I tested was an adjustable acrylic bin. At first glance, it looks like a normal clear organizer, but the depth actually expands and contracts.
That ended up being way more useful than I expected.
I tested it in both shallow and deep shelves, and it worked really well in both spaces. I could see this being useful for:
- Play-Doh accessories
- Craft supplies
- Pantry items
- Kids’ toys
- Bathroom storage
What impressed me most was that it didn’t collapse or feel flimsy when pulled out, which I honestly expected it might.
My final verdict? I liked it and would recommend it.
The only reason I’m personally hesitant to keep it is because I already own a lot of acrylic organizers, and I try not to have too many different styles of bins throughout my home.
The Acrylic Drawer Systems Looked Better Than They Worked

I tested several different acrylic drawer organizers from Brightroom, including stackable drawer systems and modular bins: one drawer, two drawer, and three drawer.
At first glance, they looked fantastic.
I especially liked that some of them were large enough to fit paper and scrapbook supplies. And visually, they looked really clean inside the IKEA KALLAX shelves we use throughout our home.
But once I started actually using them, the biggest problem became obvious:
The drawers didn’t glide well.
They technically worked, but they constantly needed fiddling and adjusting to push them back in correctly. Some of them also felt slightly warped when stacked.
That may not bother everyone, but I know myself well enough to know this would annoy me every single day.
There were a few positives:
- The modular sizing was nice
- The bins were deep and spacious
- Some worked well as portable pull-out bins
- They fit beautifully inside KALLAX shelves
But overall, the drawer mechanism was frustrating enough that I decided not to keep them.
The Water Bottle Organizer Was a Huge Win

This might have been my favorite product in the entire video.
I tested the Brightroom stackable water bottle organizer, and I immediately understood why people love these.
Water bottles have always been awkward to store in our house. They roll around, stack weirdly, and become impossible to reach in deep cabinets.
These solved that problem beautifully.
The bottles slid in easily, the stack felt secure, and I was able to move them to a lower cabinet that’s much easier to access.
A few things I loved:
- They stacked securely
- The acrylic looked clean and modern
- Bottles were easy to grab
- They actually fit inside a standard upper cabinet
I genuinely didn’t expect them to work as well as they did.
This was an absolute keeper for me, and I may even buy more.
The Makeup Spinner Was Nice… But Not Necessary
I also tested a rotating acrylic makeup organizer designed for countertops.
It had:
- A tall center section for brushes
- Four divided outer compartments
- A smooth spinning design
And honestly? It worked well.
It fit a surprising amount of makeup, especially everyday items like:
- Brushes
- Foundation
- Blush
- Small palettes
- Sunscreen
- Creams
If you need to keep makeup on your counter or have limited drawer space, I think this would be a great option.
That said, I already have a drawer organizer system that I really love, so I probably won’t keep this one personally.
But I do think it’s a solid product.
The Rope Basket Was Simple but Practical

Sometimes the simplest organizing products are the most useful.
I picked up one of Target’s rope baskets and ended up really liking it for casual storage.
I tested it with:
- Card games
- Small games
- Notepads
- Random family room items
- Photo boxes
And it worked really well for corralling all those little things that tend to float around a living room.
I especially liked that:
- It looked decorative
- It hid clutter nicely
- It was sturdy without being rigid
- It fit well on shelves
This is one of those products that isn’t revolutionary, but it’s practical and versatile.
The Fridge Turntable Was a Huge Disappointment

This was one of the products I was most excited about… and one of my least favorites.
The idea sounded great:
- A rotating fridge organizer
- Slides forward
- Helps you reach items in the back
But in real life, it required way too much clearance to actually spin properly.
That created several problems:
- It wasted fridge space
- Items beside it blocked the rotation
- You had to constantly reposition it
- The sliding feature barely helped
Even after loading it up and testing it in different areas of the fridge, I just couldn’t make it practical.
My verdict: I do not recommend this one.
The Y-Weave Baskets Are Still One of My All-Time Favorites

These baskets have been one of my go-to organizing products for years.
And after all this testing… they still hold up.
I use them:
- In closets
- In cabinets
- In kids’ rooms
- On shelves
- All over the house
Why I love them:
- They’re durable
- Easy to wipe clean
- Come in tons of sizes
- Work in almost any space
- Easy to grab and pull out
These are one of those products I continually come back to because they simply work.
The Multi-Purpose Bins Still Deserve the Hype

If you’ve followed Get Organized HQ for any amount of time, you already know I love these bins.
I’ve used them:
- In the pantry
- In closets
- In cabinets
- On shelves
- In drawers
They are incredibly versatile.
The only downside I noticed recently is that Target seems to be phasing out some of the size options, which is disappointing because having multiple compatible sizes is part of what makes them so useful.
But overall, these are still a huge recommendation from me.
The Space-Saving Closet Hangers Were More Trouble Than They Were Worth

I tested multiple versions of those viral closet hangers that are supposed to save space by layering clothing vertically:
And while they did technically save space…
They also made accessing clothes much harder.
The biggest problems:
- Clothes became difficult to remove
- Putting clothes away took longer
- Items dragged on the floor
- Heavy clothing made the hanger awkward
- It would absolutely encourage me to procrastinate laundry
If you are extremely tight on closet space, they may help.
But for everyday use? Regular hangers are just much easier.
The Simple Refrigerator Can Organizer Was Better Than the Fancy One

I tested two different refrigerator can organizers:
- One spring-loaded version
- One simple gravity-feed style
The spring-loaded one looked fancy, but it:
- Took up more space
- Was harder to access
- Didn’t glide smoothly
- Held an awkward number of cans
The simpler can organizer actually worked much better.
I liked that:
- It was compact
- Easy to refill
- Easy to grab cans
- Didn’t waste space
The only weird thing is that it holds 10 cans instead of 12.
Still, I’d absolutely choose the simpler version over the spring-loaded one.
The Ziploc Bag Organizers Were Actually Great

These drawer organizers for food storage bags really impressed me.
I loved that:
- They were separate pieces
- They fit nicely in a drawer
- The labels were already built in
- They felt customizable
Unlike the wall-mounted versions that are all connected together, these let you configure the drawer however you want.
And they fit a surprising amount of bags.
I originally thought I might not keep them because I’d have to rearrange the drawer… but after using them, I changed my mind.
These are probably staying.
The Produce Containers Were One of the Best Products I Tested

These fridge produce organizers ended up being one of my favorite purchases.
I especially loved:
- The removable drainage insert
- The stackable design
- The handles
- The divided container option
The divided version was especially useful because it let me store multiple types of produce in one container without wasting space.
I tested them with:
- Strawberries
- Grapes
- Kiwis
And they looked so much cleaner and more functional than the original clamshell containers from the store.
My only caveat is this:
These systems work best if you consistently use them.
If you tend to abandon organization systems after a few weeks, you may end up drifting back to the original produce containers.
But overall, I really liked these.
The Canister Set Was Good… But Not Perfect

I also tested a Brightroom canister set for pantry storage.
At first, I was impressed:
- They looked nice
- The grooves stacked well
- They fit full bags of flour and sugar
- The acrylic felt sturdy
But when I tested the seal with flour, the lid didn’t stay as airtight as I hoped.
That doesn’t necessarily make them bad. In fact, I think they’re still pretty solid for the price.
But compared to truly airtight systems, they’re not perfect.
I’d say these are good mid-range pantry containers, especially if you care about appearance and stackability.
The Kids’ Drawer Organizers Were Surprisingly Great

One of the biggest surprises for me was a colorful modular drawer organizer system for kids.
I tested it in my son’s room with:
- Rubik’s cubes
- Small toys
- Notebooks
- Random “kid junk”
And honestly, it worked beautifully.
What I liked:
- The drawers fit well in KALLAX shelves
- The smaller compartments helped corral random items
- The drawers glided much better than the acrylic systems
- It made the room instantly look tidier
This ended up being one of the easiest “yes, we’re keeping this” products in the whole video.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I think the biggest lesson from testing all these products is this:
A product being trendy or aesthetically pleasing does not automatically make it functional.
Some of the simplest items ended up being the most useful:
Meanwhile, some of the more “innovative” products created more hassle than they solved.
And honestly, that’s why I love testing these products in real life before recommending them. Because organizing products should make your life easier… not create one more thing that frustrates you every day.
