How I Drive Loads of Pinterest Traffic to My Blog
Pinterest is usually by far the number one source of traffic to my blog! Getting new traffic to my blog is super important because those people sign up for my e-mail list where they hear from me regularly and ultimately become customers. The thing is, all the other social media channels combined don't even bring a quarter of the traffic that Pinterest does for me. So you're probably wanting my secret for driving loads of Pinterest traffic to my blog. I’m a huge fan of sharing everything I know, so I’m definitely going to spill the beans.
However, my big Pinterest secret is probably not quite what you’re expecting to hear. It’s also ridiculously easy but requires a lot of self control. I’ve been reflecting a lot on why I’ve had so much success with Pinterest and here’s the number one reason: I pretty much ignored all the other social media channels.
Yes, that’s right! To succeed on Pinterest, I had to give up trying to succeed in a lot of different areas. It really paid off. The day I started this blog, my number one goal was to grow and nurture my e-mail list. My number two goal was to become a Pinterest pro and drive traffic to my blog with Pinterest. All other goals were secondary.
As you know we all have a mere 24 hours in a day. Not only that but we have a limit to how much information and knowledge we can really absorb each day. That means that not only was I not spending time posting to my Facebook page, I also wasn’t spending time reading and learning about how to improve Facebook engagement. Instead I spent my learning energies finding out how to improve my Pinterest traffic.
What all this means is that I’m not a Facebook or Instagram expert. I had to give that up in order to totally rock Pinterest. However, this allowed me to make progress in my business a lot faster than if I had tried to divide my energies and focus on everything all at once.
