Free Meal Planning Printables
Hi guys! It’s Larisa from the I Heart Planners Team! Can you believe it’s almost September?! Fall is almost here and I am seriously so shocked at how quickly this summer flew by. But September is a great time of the year. I love how the “back to school” feelings get everyone organized to start planning the year ahead.
One of the routines I can’t wait to get back into this fall is meal planning! We’ve been on vacation for the past 3 weeks, so meal planning has been less grocery shopping and more dining out. Budgeting our meals and planning everything ahead of time saves my family so much money, and makes me feel so productive every single month. I can’t wait to sit down with the meal planning printables and get back into my routine!
I love the monthly meal planner that comes with the monthly bonus packs in the Sweet Life Society. It has a line for every day of the month and helps me get all of our meals planned well in advance. I still go grocery shopping and really confirm the meal plan once a week, but having a general plan for the month is really helpful. I’ll write down all the nights that we have dinner plans – a lot of times we will have friends coming over or we will be going out, so there are many days I don’t have to plan dinner – and then I fill in the rest of the days accordingly.
Once I know what days I have to plan for, I pull out my phone for my list of “meals my family loves” and start writing down the names of meals I’ll be making. I keep a running list of recipes that are well-loved and that I’ve memorized on my phone. It makes meal planning every week so much easier! And it helps make sure my family is not always eating the same dinner night after night.
A big savings for my family has been planning our lunches, too. Since we live and work in New York City, sometimes a salad can be $20! So I like to cook more food than necessary on most nights so we can take leftovers the next day.
