Day 19: I Need Your Input!
It’s day 19 of the self discipline challenge. If you’re new, you can read what’s it all about here. Don’t worry, it’s not too late to jump in at any point. You’ll need the ebook 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life.
I haven’t posted about the challenge in a few days, but, rest assured, I’ve been doing pretty well! One of the reasons I haven’t written as much about the challenge is because I’ve super busy working on my mega project! It’s definitely not going to be completely ready by the 21st, but a lot of progress has been made, and I’ve built up a lot of momentum for myself!
I have no doubt my online store will be launching by December 15 at the latest! There is a lot involved with setting up an online store and figuring out ways to attract customers. I’m probably only spending half my time on creating the product and the other half researching, planning, and implementing things to attract customers to the store once it launches. The good news is that for the most part I’m really enjoying both parts of the project.
Rather than recap what the ebook discusses today (getting things done early), I wanted to make it more personal and let you know how this challenge has impacted me. I’ve been really trying to be aware of ways to improve in my self discipline and getting things done as I’m going through the challenge. I’ve identified two major areas that I would really impact my life for the better if I could improve:
- I often do a poor job of prioritizing what I need to accomplish when I am at home. For example, this evening, instead of washing the small number of dishes that are in the sink and packing tomorrow’s lunch, I spent a lot of time working on my printable planner and doing blog stuff. That means I’m already behind for tomorrow before the day even begins! I’ve been working hard, but I haven’t prioritized well. I need to really prioritize a few simple household tasks and prepping for the next day, and it would save time and stress in the long run. Also, I spend a bit too much time planning ways to market my online store when I haven’t even created a good inventory of product yet! I’m getting things a little backwards.
- Although I have improved some, I still waste a lot of time, especially when I’m not focused. I sit down at the computer and feel overwhelmed with 20 things I’d really love to accomplish. Instead of picking one or two tasks, I fear picking the wrong tasks, and getting nothing done! Instead I read blogs or browse Pinterest or read forums about how to market my store (which doesn’t even exist yet).

- Do you have the same problems?
What have you noticed about yourself that could use improvement while doing this challenge?

- When it comes to my mega project,
I need your input
- . My first product is going to be a comprehensive printable planner. It will include daily planning pages, weekly planning views, calendars, meal planning sheets, budget sheets, etc. I’ve created 4 different styles of a daily planning page, and I need you to vote for your favorite. I’ll be creating the rest of the pages based on the most popular style. Here they are:
So, which is your favorite? You can leave your vote here on my facebook page. Also, let me know if you have any other suggestions.
How is your mega project coming? Have you made progress in the last 19 days?

I like style 2 best. The color variety is great!
LauraJane Says
Post authorThanks. Most people seem to like the color variety.

I vote for #1. I would probably use the left column as a to-do list. I (and maybe others) do most of my scheduling stuff digitally.
LauraJane Says
Post authorThanks, Jeffiner! I might make a version with the left as a to-do list instead of a schedule because I would probably use it the same way. I just don’t usually write down my appointments at all, but I like writing to do lists. #1 is also my fave.

I vote for #2. I like that it has different colors so it will be easier to identify what is what at a glance. I voted on facebook.
