Day 13: The Rewards of Overcoming Fear
Overcoming fear has some great rewards! I just returned yesterday from a fantastic time at the Allume conference. It’s crazy to think what I would have missed out on if I had let my fear hold me back.
I had planned to write a lot of specifics about who I met, what I learned, and how I felt, but it’s getting late, and it’s better to publish a less than perfect post than wait for it to be perfect and not publish at all. I took very, very few pictures, but I’ll let the few I did take do most of the talking. I hope to write more about some of who I met and what I learned later, but that may take me a week or two.
I know you probably can’t see it too well, but that’s Phil Vischer, the creator of Veggie Tales, speaking on the first night:
Here’s one of the people I got to know at the conference, Jess Reazin, sending her first tweet:
The Five Minute Friday live party was amazing! These ladies have some amazing talent. I was blown away!
I got to meet and have lunch with Crystal Paine from MoneySavingMom.com. She is even more kind in real life than she is on her blog:

Laura, it was a pleasure to sit with you at dinner Saturday evening. I agree with all that you said here. I had to overcome some fears to set foot into that hotel as well. As for FMF, I am always put to shame by the talent in that group of writers. I play along in hopes it will better my own skills.
Smiles!
