What’s on My Wishlist
Every year I put together a clutter free gift guide. If you want to see that, I would check out last year's guide because it's all still very relevant. But this year, I thought I'd shake things up a little and just share what's on MY wishlist this year. You can check out the video here, or keep reading. In no particular order, here we go!
1. Mach V1 Ultra Floor Cleaner
Okay, so this is super pricey. But of all the floor cleaning systems, the Mach V1 Ultra Floor Cleaner seems like it would really save me time, and the reviews are fantastic.
It literally vacuums, mops, and dries the floor– all at the same time. I hate how when I mop, the floor stays damp, and you have to wait for it to dry before walking on it. It also WASHES THE MOP PAD as it goes. Sorry for the all caps, but I find that totally awesome. I also hate the idea of pushing a dirty mop over a floor to “clean” it, LOL.
It has a steam function, too. I doubt I would use this much as I have hardwood floors. I know some people use a steamer on hardwood without an issue, but I personally wouldn't want to risk it. I do have some tile in the kitchen, though, and that's where the floors tend to get extra messy and sticky, so I would probably use the steam function there.
It has a small valve for the cleaning solution, and then it mixes itself, so that saves hassle. The other cool feature is that when you return this to its base, it washes and dries the mop pad, so it prevents mildew and smelliness– a BIG win in my book.
Right now I use a Cedar-O mop, but I just hate mopping because I have to get out the big bucket, and it's just an ordeal. So I really think this floor cleaner could save me time, hassle, and therefore would mean I'd actually mop more often, LOL!
2. Robot Mop and Vacuum with Base
Another pricey item– because I'd want all the features. I actually posted an entire video about why I don't have a robot vacuum. And I'm still not totally sold on the idea. This is mostly because I don't think it would do well around my barstools at our kitchen island, and that's where I need the most help with vacuuming anyway.
But some of the newer models really are super automated. I love the idea of something working for me in the background. I'd want one that would vacuum, mop, return itself to the base, empty itself, and wash the mop pad…not that I'm picky, LOL! But all these features add up to a pretty expensive model. This one has all the features I'd want, though– I'm still thinking about it!
3. Cadence Travel Capsules
These are actually not that expensive. They're little magnetic hexagons for travel toiletries and little bits of things that you'd take with you on a trip. They're all over Facebook and Instagram, and they are soooo cute! They look super organized, which pulls at my heartstrings.
Here's why I haven't pulled the plug, though. They're kind of splurgy, and I don't really think I could actually travel exclusively with these. I travel 3-4 times a year or more, so I think it's a totally justifiable purchase. However, none of these have squeeze options, so for liquids that might get a bit annoying.
I'm also not super particular about my shampoo and conditioner, so I always just use the ones the hotel provides. And my face wash already comes in a little travel bottle with a squeeze option that I'd prefer. I also don't see myself decanting makeup, etc. into these. I think they look better than they'd actually function for me…but they're still on my list because they're just so adorable!
4. Away Luggage
One of the best ways you can give a gift that won't cause clutter is if you're giving something that's an upgrade to an item someone already has. If you give a super fancy coffee maker, they can pass the old one on, etc. New luggage would do that for me.
While I like my main suitcase, it was a pretty cheap model that came from Walmart. New luggage brands have added all sorts of fancy things like charger ports, laptop compartments. I think I'd find those things super useful.
My luggage is just getting a little beat up and showing some wear. The Away Luggage brand is the one I've had my eye on.
5. Mini Notebooks
I had to mention these because I just absolutely love them! I keep these little notebooks all over the house– by my bed, in my purse, in the car, at my desk. They're great for jotting down notes. I use them when I'm just starting to drift off to sleep, and then I remember something. If I don't write it down asap, I'll be up thinking about it, or forget it entirely LOL!
These would make great stocking stuffers, or you could combine it with a pack of nice pens for a cute little gift.
6. Kenmore Mixer
I have had a Kitchen Aid for most of my adult life. I don't know about you, but I am just not that coordinated with a powerful mixer, LOL! I always tend to start it too fast and throw flour or bits of food all over myself!
My Kitchen Aid has a pour shield, but it's just kind of clunky. You can't easily add ingredients around it, and if you need to raise the beater, you have to remove the shield, and it just makes a huge mess even though that's what it's supposed to prevent.
The Kenmore mixer is just designed a little differently. It has a hole at the top for pouring ingredients from the top, and then if you raise the beater, the shield comes up along with it. It looks super cool. The design looks really functional, too. I'd love to try it out and see if it keeps me a little cleaner when I'm baking!
7. Galison Puzzles
My family and I have been loving puzzles lately. It's just a good way to spend some time together, and you can pick it up for 15 minutes at a time for a little break during the day. Galison puzzles are some of my favorites.
I like the designs, but they're also just really well made. This is important for puzzle enjoyment, LOL! The pieces fit together well, so you can tell if it's actually a fit or if it's the wrong piece. They are also sturdy if you want to take it apart and put it together multiple times.
They also have different levels from easy to really challenging. I prefer somewhere in the middle so it goes together fairly quickly, and I'm not searching an hour for a single match.
8. Cookie Dough Subscription
This is actually something I've researched because I was super intrigued the first time I heard about them. Believe it or not, there are several cookie dough subscriptions out there!
The basic concept is you get a new tub of cookie dough every month (different flavors). Who doesn't love eating cookie dough?!? These are edible cookie doughs, though, so they won't make you sick, and you don't have to bake them. I also think they'd last a good long time. I can't really eat that much cookie dough in one sitting, so one little tub would probably last me until the next month when a new flavor came. I think it's such a fun snack and a really creative gift idea!
9. Fuzzy Slippers
For the GOHQ Virtual event, we will give our speakers gifts. This year we did it a bit differently and had them choose their own gifts in some cases. These fuzzy slippers from Amazon were one of the most popular items!
Honestly I can see why– they're really cute for slippers, and they definitely look cozy. I've never been a huge slipper person, but I would really like to try a pair of these.
10. Papermate Flair Pens
This year I realized my pen collection was getting out of control, and promised I would stop buying pens. I developed a bit of an addiction, and I've been so good and haven't bought any new pens. But these are so tempting! The Flair pens have a nice felt tip in tons of different colors, and if I decide to lift my pen-buying ban, these will definitely be my first purchase!
11. Frixion Pens
I actually have these pens, but they are some of my favorites! They're similar to a normal pen, but they come in tons of colors, and they are ERASABLE!!!
This is a game changer for pens for me. A set of these pens plus some of the mini notebooks that I mentioned earlier would be a great combo and kind of universally pleasing.
12. Chalk Couture Club
I love crafting, but I've gotten so much busier lately. Between young kids at home and running a business, I just don't have the time for crafts like I used to. I still need a creative outlet, though, and Chalk Couture has been a perfect fit for me.
I get a monthly screen/design, and a few chalk paint packets. You can put the design on all sorts of things– fabric, chalkboards or other surfaces. You can buy those from the company or from places like Hobby Lobby or even the Dollar Tree. It only takes a few minutes to apply the chalk paint, and then afterward I have something I can use for decor around the house.
The best part is that I can quickly accomplish a project and have something to show for it quickly afterward. Cleanup is fast and easy. It's a way I've been able to fit crafting into my busy life. One of these days when I have more time, I'm sure I'll pick up other hobbies, but this has been so much fun, and it fits into my life really well right now!
Clutter Free Gifts
One of my big concerns when giving a gift is that I want it to be truly useful or loved by the recipient. I definitely don't want it to cause clutter or be something they have to deal with or get rid of (potentially with guilt!) later on. If you're concerned about that, too, check out my Clutter Free Gift Guide from last year. All the items still totally apply to this year, and it's a great place to start for ideas as you're starting to make your holiday gift lists!
