The Last 10 Things I Bought On Amazon
I just got through doing a deep dive on our spending for 2024. I keep track of every dollar we spend in an app, and instead of organizing it by category (which would take me forever!!), I organize it by store. I will group some stores together like craft stores, grocery stores, etc. But the #1 store for us where we spent the most money…..Amazon! Apparently we shop there a TON. So I thought it would be fun to take a quick look at what in the world I actually buy there to spend so much money! So without editing, here are the last 10 items I bought from Amazon! Keep reading or check out the video here.
1. Freezer Tape $5.13
I use this freezer tape mostly in the kitchen. I like to label leftovers with the date because I can never remember when we had it, LOL. I just use a marker to quickly date it so we don't end up eating spoiled food by mistake.
I also use this for super fast labeling. The other day I needed to quickly label my spice jars, so I just grabbed the freezer tape. Eventually I'll make nice pretty labels, but this works in the meantime!
2. Braun Ear Thermometer Covers $16.71
I have yet to find a home thermometer that is actually accurate. However, this Braun thermometer is the best and most consistent thermometer I've found so far. Usually it only varies by about a degree if you take a couple of repeated tests.
It's cold and flu season, and like almost every other family, we've been sick some this winter. So I needed some replacement covers.
3. HiRise Charging Station $85.59
This was my husband's purchase. He has it on his bedside table to charge his phone and watch all at once, and it's super cool. They're now selling a new version that also charges earbuds. It is a really fast charger. I want one so badly, but after seeing how much we spent on Amazon last year, I've refused to buy one. So I find myself putting my watch on his charger because it charges in half the time!
I may cave and get myself one, but I'm still trying to hold out!
4. 5×7 Clear Cellophane Bags $10.69
We bought these for my son's Valentines because he was giving away little Rubik's Cubes. There are 200 in the pack, but I like having these on hand for any little treats we need to give out. They're good for wrapping cookies or little gifts.
5. 2×3 Clear Cellophane Bags $5.34
I neglected to consider the thickness of the little cubes my son was giving away…and these didn't fit. That's why I had to order the 5×7 bags the very next day, LOL! So now I have these little bags for some other teeny tiny treat– oh well!
6. Mini Rubik's Cubes $18.29
And the day before that we ordered the mini Rubik's Cubes. I have to say…they are super cute! My son loves his Rubik's Cube, and he's known for it at school. So that's why he wanted to give them out for his Valentine's Day treats.
7. Espresso Shot Glasses $13.37
This was my husband's purchase. He is WAY into coffee. I don't really drink it at all, so I have no idea why he needed these espresso shot glasses, but it makes him happy!
8. Adjustable Fit Bit Compatible Bands $10.69
My daughter likes to wear a Fit Bit. Her band is still the original one, and it has been fraying pretty badly. So I bought her this pack of three to replace it.
9. Magnetic Measuring Spoons in Gold $10.69
I have a set similar to this in a silver color with rainbow plastic. I absolutely love them. The magnets keep them together in the drawer, but you can easily take them apart.
However, the handles on all the appliances in our kitchen are gold, and I wanted this set in gold just because I like it to match, LOL! So it was a totally unnecessary purchase, but I can't say I regret it. I absolutely love them!
10. Premier Protein Powder $45.81
Coming in as the second most expensive item is a giant tub of protein powder. My husband and I both have protein goals, and we're trying to eat healthier overall. Let me tell you, it is so hard for me to get my protein in. I really struggle with it, and if I don't supplement with a little protein powder, there's no way I could do it.
My husband usually has his in shake form in the mornings. My favorite way to use it is with my Ninja Creami. I mix up protein powder, milk, and a little sugar free pudding. I freeze it, run it through the Ninja Creami, and it makes the best “ice cream!” I'm not kidding– the texture is incredible. It's just like eating a super creamy ice cream.
And that's a wrap– it's a mishmash of randomness, probably like most of our Amazon order histories! I'm really working toward spending less this year, and Amazon is tops on my list of where to cut back. We'll see how much I can reduce my spending here this year. It's tough, LOL!
