The Home Edit from Walmart Review
A few months back I noticed that The Home Edit started selling a line of products at Walmart. That kind of blew my mind, and it sounded too good to be true. In the past I’ve purchased many items from The Home Edit line at The Container Store, and I couldn’t hardly believe that I could get the same quality of items at my local Walmart.
But, there was only one way to find out. So I ordered every single item that The Home Edit sold at Walmart! Yep! I paid for it with my own money and everything.
Check out the video below where I unbox my purchases and give my true first impression:
The Home Edit x Walmart: General Observations
One thing to note about purchasing items from The Home Edit line at Walmart is that the items must be purchased in what’s called an “edit” – which is really just a fancy word for “set.” That means that if you need just one more bin, you’ll have to buy an entire set from Walmart, rather than being able to buy any item one off like you can at The Container Store.
It’s also worth noting that everything in each of the edits is interchangeable with the other edits. So if you buy the 10 Piece Bath Edit and the 8 Piece Multi Purpose Edit, the pieces will all interchange nicely with the others. (Which is a huge win!)
I am incredibly picky about my organizing containers being truly modular, meaning you can stack them in various configurations and they all come out to the same height and same depth. I was so pleased to see that the edits sold at Walmart are indeed modular! It’s harder to find than you would think, and it’s one of the things that sets The Home Edit apart in my book!
I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the acrylic! When I hold a piece from Walmart and a piece from The Container Store side by side, I can tell that the Walmart piece is a smidgen thinner, but honestly, the difference is negligible. The Home Edit line at Walmart is definitely not skimping on quality!
And lastly, before I get to the value for your money, I want to point out that there are some slight differences between the pieces sold at The Container Store and the pieces sold at Walmart. While you technically could mix and match, they aren’t identical pieces and you would probably be able to tell that.
