Planner Peek: Mel
I am excited to bring you another installment in the Planner Peek series! I don’t know about you, but I just LOVE being able to sneak a peek inside other people’s planners. I love to see how they use them, how they decorate them, what type of planner they use, etc. I have asked my readers to submit photos of their planners and to tell us a bit about how they use their planning system. (You can submit your planner by filling out this really short and easy form. If you’re selected, you’ll get a free copy of the digital Sweet Life Planner worth $35!) All of the Planner Peeks in this series have been so fun to see.
Mel just purchased an Arc Jr. and a personal FILO that are on their way! Mel's says her planner is her life. Her planner includes work calendars, personal calendars, meal planning, wish lists, school information for her son, her family bucket list, her dogs vet records, etc. In other words, it is her BRAIN!
Mel has a condition called narcolepsy and she never knows when she is going to have a sleep attack and be asleep all evening. Planning allows her family the opportunity to have peace of mind for meals and schedules when, as she says, “I'm not really able to be ‘with' them when I'm sleeping. Without this planner and the work I do to keep it up and follow the activities in it, we would be a mess.”
Every Sunday Mel decorates her planner. She picks a theme and goes to town. Stickers. Washi. Post-Its. The theme is based on the season and on upcoming events. For example: monster trucks for her son's birthday week and red white and blue for 4th of July week.
Having a planner isn't a phase for Mel – it's a way of life. Mel has been using planners since around age eight or so. In fact, Mel says she still has her personal sized “Hello Kitty planner from high school and I'm 31!” Even if it's not the cool thing to do, it's the only way to live!
Mel has tons of photos and she shares a few layouts from the last few weeks.
Mel's use of washi tape, stickers, etc. sure is a fun way to dress up her planner. I love her creativity and how she makes her planners a joy to use. Take a composite look at Mel's Arc Junior Planner.

We all know that planning is the cool thing to do!
Love all of her decorations – the monster trucks aren’t something you see very often, but I love it! 😀
