We gave the website a complete makeover.

And you'll never guess what inspired me to redesign the blog?

It was surgery.

Yes, that's right. You see, recently I had a scheduled surgery (a laparoscopic gallbladder removal if you're curious), and so I've been recovering from that. I didn't really plan on doing anything with the blog, but a funny thing happened.

Since I'm recovering, I can't do much. I can't lift my kids (or even hold them). I can't do chores or house work. I can't bend much. For the first 4 days, I couldn't even lay flat in the bed (because it was too hard to get up without using my ab muscles which are super sore from surgery). I couldn't even sleep super well.

The one thing I could do was sit at the computer and work. So that's pretty much what I've been doing nonstop for the past 5 days.

Part of the time I've been working on a top secret project that's been a dream of mine for quite some time. I CANNOT WAIT to announce it – should be happening fairly soon. Don't worry – as soon as I'm free to share, I'll be shouting it from the rooftops, so you won't miss it.

I also completely redesigned this site. It's not 100% where I want it yet (and I'll still be tweaking it a lot in the coming weeks), but I think it's a big improvement. The thing I'm most excited about is that it's a lot easier to find the posts you want to see. You can navigate to just the printables or just the organizing posts, or you can read just the posts about how to blog. Previously it was a lot harder to look at just the posts in a specific category.
