Subscription Box Gifts
The beauty of subscription box gifts is that they keep on giving all year long! But so many subscription boxes are filled with nifty trinkets that will quickly become clutter. The subscription boxes I’m recommending below are perfect for the neat freaks in your life because they won’t add to the clutter.
Stampin’ Up Paper Pumpkin (comes with everything you need to make 12 cards)
Perfect For: Crafters, Long Distance Friends
Did you know there’s an entire card making subscription box? This super fun little box comes with everything you need to make 12 cards – you’ll just need an acrylic block to use your stamps. Once you make the cards, you can brighten someone’s days by sending them out. It’s a fun activity and it’s something you’ll actually use so you (or the loved one you gift this too!) won’t be accumulating bunches of stuff, but you’ll still enjoy tons of crafting fun.
Club Couture
Perfect For: Crafters, Moms with Kids
My newest obsession is chalk art. I’ve hosted a crafting night doing all chalk art, and I love decorating my home with the various seasonal designs. Club Couture will send you a monthly subscription with chalk paste, stencil sheets, and items to chalk your designs on to. You use up the paste and the transfers are small and easy to store (or you can toss them if you’re unlikely to want that transfer again.) Eventually you could end up with too much chalk art in your home, but the finished products make great gifts as well!
Flower Subscription
Perfect For: Nature Lovers, Long Distance Friends
Know someone who adores fresh flowers? A flower subscription box would be the perfect gift! ReVased is one of the most affordable options I’ve found for a flower subscription, and it’s easy to gift it as well!
Audible
Perfect For: Book Lovers, Moms with Kids
I am a huge fan of listening to audiobooks. I listen while I do housework, in the car, sometimes even while doing more mindless work for my job. An Audible subscription adds zero clutter but opens up worlds of possibilities for any audiobook lover in your life!
Kindle
Perfect For: Book Lovers, Teenagers
Book subscriptions aren’t just for audiobook lovers! You can also purchase a Kindle subscription for any avid readers in your life. Not sure if they have a kindle? You can find deals on Kindles as cheap as $50!
Kekao Chocolate Subscription Box
Perfect For: Um, Everyone 😉
Chocolate is always a good idea. If you don’t know what to get one of your loved ones, go for a chocolate subscription box. You can gift the Kekao Chocolate Subscription Box in a variety of quantities (starting with just one single box if you’d prefer!) Each box will include 4 to 5 chocolate bars.
Imperfect Foods
Perfect For: Foodies, Moms with Kids
The Imperfect Foods box is a unique item to gift. Everything that comes in the box is handpicked by the purchaser, so you could surprise the recipient by picking out the contents for them, or give them the login info to the account so they can build their own box. There’s a wide variety of fruits and veggies, but also snacks and chocolates and coffee beans! And, for the time being, Imperfect Foods is offering $20 off your first four boxes (so $80 in savings total!) which means your gift giving budget can stretch that much further! Click here to sign up for an Imperfect Foods account and snag that $80 savings. And, if you’d like a more in-depth review of Imperfect Foods and how much it actually does or does not save you, click here to read the review.
Blue Apron
Perfect For: Foodies
This subscription box is perfect for the loved one in your life who dreams of being a professional chef. The unique thing about Blue Apron is that instead of simply sending you the food to get dinner on the table, Blue Apron aims to educate the recipient on various cooking techniques to help them become a better chef. These recipes can be time consuming! But for someone who loves cooking, it’s time well spent!
Acts of Service Gifts
If your loved one is an “acts of service” person, then one of these gifts would be the perfect surprise for them to open up on Christmas day. Of course a Groupon voucher, an IOU for dinner and a movie, or even a family vacation would all make a great experience-based gift. If you’re looking for an experience specifically for the neat freak in your life, one of these options may be just the ticket!
Babysitting
Perfect For: Moms with Kids
Ask anyone with young kids: an IOU for babysitting is a gift that can’t be beat! You could offer to take the kids out for an evening so the recipient of your gift can have an evening at home to clean and organize (as crazy as it sounds, some people find that relaxing!) Or you could include a gift card in the bundle and watch the kids while the parents have an evening out.
Care.com
Perfect For: Moms with Kids, Loved Ones with Chronic Conditions
This gift definitely requires that you know the recipient pretty well and know they won’t take offense. Care.com allows you to hire a professional to come in and do some deep cleaning, which can be a welcome reprieve!
Car Wash Coupon Book
Perfect For: Long Distance Commuters, Guys
One forgotten place that neat freaks spend a lot of time is in their car! Something as simple as one of those booklets of carwash coupons would make a great gift for a neat freak who’s on the road a lot.
Freezer Meals
Perfect For: Moms with Kids, Non-Cooks
I love the Freezer Meal Plan Cards created by Passionate Penny Pinchers, and honestly, just that box set alone would make a great gift!! But, if you want to take it to the next level, going ahead and preparing a week or two of the freezer meals would make an amazing, time saving gift! Just be sure the recipient has freezer space for the meals!
Skillshare Course
Perfect For: Multipassionate Friends, Guys
Have a loved one who has a dream of learning a new skill in the new year? Give them the gift of a Skillshare course in whatever their interest may be! There are all sorts of design classes, and even some productivity courses. If you don’t find anything on Skillshare that looks like a good fit, definitely check out Masterclass as well!
Consumable Gifts
Label Maker
Perfect For: Newlyweds, New Home Owners
No neat freak gift guide would be complete without mentioning the ultimate neat freak tool: a label maker! You can read my entire label maker review right here, where I review a variety of label makers. My very, very favorite label maker is the Dymo Label Maker. (Hint: the off brand label tape works just as well, so you could really boost your gift by including a bit of extra label tape!)
Cricut Joy
Perfect For: Crafters
If the neat freak in your life hasn’t already hopped on the Cricut Joy craze it might be time to invest on their behalf. This gift is great for making beautiful vinyl labels, but you can also do all sorts of other fun organizing projects (spice jar or pantry labels, anyone!?)
JAWS with matching cleaning cloths
Perfect For: Housewarming Gift, Anyone who loves color coding
The JAWS cleaning system is new to me, but wowza I am in love!! First of all, if the neat freak in your life is in to color coding, this. Is. THE GIFT. Each type of cleaner comes in a different color, and you can get a matching microfiber cloth so you can color code your cleaning cloths with the type of cleaner. Their cleaners include Kitchen, Glass, Granite, Hardwood, Disinfectant, and Shower cleaner.
Mrs. Meyers Peppermint Soap
Perfect For: The Hard to Buy For Friends
Okay, so maybeee a bunch of soap makes an odd gift, but if it’s Mrs. Meyers Peppermint scented then I think you get a pass! First of all, this stuff is hard to find! It was out of stock for the longest time, but you can now find it at Mrs. Meyers Online or order it at a slight discount through Grove Collaborative. I’m telling you – it’s my favorite scent ever! It’s only available at the holidays, and I buy extra so I have it all year long. Get a cute little tin bucket and few microfiber cloths and you’ve got the perfect gift set! Or, you can order a pre-done set through Grove Collaborative here.
Cleaning Recipe Labels from Clean Mama
Perfect For: DIYers
DIY Cleaners are a neat freak's best friend! These labels would make a great stocking stuffer, or you could take it to the next level and gift them already applied to some glass spray bottles. You can only find them here from Clean Mama.
Reusable Food Storage Bags
Perfect For: Moms with Kids
You've probably heard of Stasher bags, but did you know that you can get an entire set of reusable food storage bags for the cost of just one Stasher bag? I'm planning an extensive review of the off brand vs the real deal, but you sure can't beat the price of these reusable food storage bags! Get them on Amazon here.
Hostess Gifts
Kitchen Gadget Gift Basket
Perfect For: Foodies, Housewarming Gift
I’m a HUGE fan of Joseph Joseph kitchen products. Seriously, if anyone’s looking for a Christmas gift for me, go buy me something from Joseph Joseph! I’ll list a few favorites here – you could give a single item as a stocking stuff or put a few together to make a great kitchen gadget gift basket.
I absolutely love the Joseph Joseph can opener. Is it odd that I have such strong feelings about a can opener? Probably yes…but I’m telling you! I’ve never had a can opener like this. It’s compact and easy to store, and the lid of the can stays attached to the can opener until you release it so you can lift the lid totally off, carry the can opener over to the trash or recycling, and just release it right into the bin. Like I said, it’s awesome.
The Joseph Joseph Ice Cream Scoop is also pretty great. It stands up on its end and has an extra little piece built in to catch any drips – and ice cream drips on the counter are a neat freak's worst nightmare!
The stand up kitchen utensils and the nesting bowls are a couple of other recent favorite finds. They’re great space savers, and I love the beautiful array of colors. They’d make a great housewarming or hostess gift!
Owala Water Bottle with Bottle Brush Set
Perfect For: The Hard to Buy For, Guys
A good water bottle is a slam dunk gift every time. One of my favorites is the Owala Free Sip water bottle. I’ve never seen a water bottle like it. Of course it’s double wall insulated so it will keep your drink clean in similar fashion to a hydroflask. But the really nifty part is the freesip spout that let’s you tip up to drink or sip through a straw out of the same opening. I’ve been using mine for a year now and still love it. Pair it with a nice brush bottle set so that neat freak in your life can get it nice and clean!
Cordless Vacuum from Shark
Perfect For: Newlyweds, Housewarming Gift
Okay, so maybe giving your bestie a vacuum cleaner could come across the wrong way, but you definitely want to add this to your wish list. Plus, it would make a fantastic housewarming gift! I've done an entire review of this vacuum here, and long story short, I LOVE it. I've never had a vacuum like it! You can find it here.

Perfect For: Moms with Kids, Crafters
A rolling cart is an incredibly versatile gift, and you can grab one from almost anywhere! They're normally three tiered, and they make for great storage for bathroom, office, or kids craft supplies. Hi Laura, I always enjoy your ideas like this post, for my list I had been adding items I want and spotted during my shopping (boggie board, kettle Bell, Vit C supply x 3 months, ect), and I include the price, so it will become my Gifts ideas for my friends and hubby for my birthday and Christmas. I encourage him and my kids do the same. Thanks again
Cara Says
I love those three-tier rolling carts–look for them at Michaels–they’re always $30 and come in a ton of colors 🙂 (Note you can’t use coupons on them–I think they’re considered full-time loss-leaders.)

Best gift list I have seen in years. I am going to get most of the items on your list if they are available. Thanks for all the practical ideas. Most of the time gift lists are the most random, impractical stuff. Keep up the good work.

Love all these suggestions. Thank you! I’m peppermint crazed – much more than Pumpkin Lattes!!!
