I’m sharing a secret with you. Don’t laugh!
UPDATE: The bundle sale I talked about at the end of this post has ended, but you can sign up here if you'd like to be notified about future bundle sales.
I've decided it's about time to share one of my secrets. This isn't a secret I've kept intentionally, but when you only see the edited photographs and writing of my life that I post publicly on my blog, it's easy to miss some things.
So here goes:
I absolutely love pretty printables, planners, and all things organizing. I could happily spend hours at the Container Store (and actually have) and have no qualms about spending an hour creating the perfect pretty labels for my latest organizing project. If you dropped by my house on a random Friday afternoon (while I'm writing this), I would have absolutely no embarrassment if you took a peek inside all my closets and cupboards. In fact, when we bought our home 3 years ago, none of the closets had doors and we still haven't bothered to get any. I have nothing to hide in there. (I know, keep on reading, we're getting to the secret part – can you tell I'm stalling?)
As I write this post my kitchen cupboard looks like this:
But my kitchen counter looks like this:
You see, sometimes I just feel overwhelmed by it all – trying to run a business, keep the house tidy, and care for a infant who doesn't sleep much.
I really do struggle with the mundane, day to day homekeeping tasks. Things like keeping the laundry washed / dried / folded / and put away, keeping the dishes washed, the floors mopped, and the toilet scrubbed – I'm not always so great at that! I go in phases where I keep up with the house really well and phases where I'd be embarrassed to have company drop by unannounced.
I've recently been focusing on improving my health and losing my “baby weight.” While I'm very happy with the progress I've made with exercise, I still have a long way to go when it comes to consistently getting healthy, affordable meals on the table most evenings.
Since I'm spilling my secrets, there's one more thing I should share. Before my sweet baby girl arrived, I had a plan. I cleaned, organized, and decluttered nearly every square inch of my house. I read books about babies – especially baby sleep (so I could help teach her to sleep well – ha!). I scheduled out several weeks worth of blog posts. I put my shop in vacation mode. I knew life with a newborn would be totally crazy and unpredictable, and I totally expected that. What I wasn't prepared for was to still be stuck in survival mode 8.5 months later.
Maybe you can relate . . .
If you feel like I do sometimes, there's definitely help! I have been so inspired and encouraged recently by so many of the resources in the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle. The bundle is so much more than just a bunch of ebooks, ecourses, and printables. It's a carefully curated collection of homemaking resources thoughtfully put together by two ladies who want to help you grow as a homemaker.
On Monday, I told you about 3 of my favorite resources in the bundle (including the Serenity Edition of my Sweet Life Planner, worth $35 by itself). Today I'd like to point out a few of my favorite parts.
My favorites were the Spin Within which focuses on a very simple system to keep your home in order. This is totally what I need when I'm running on a just a little sleep! Even though I can't imagine myself ever going entirely paperless (I love paper planning too much), I did glean a lot from “Paperless Home Organization.” I love how Mystie uses Evernote so thoroughly and my favorite part is where she shows exactly how she organizes her notebooks in Evernote. I'm trying to cut down on all non-planner paper, and that really helped me.
I always love seeing how other people plan their meals. I can't wait to try out the Aldi meal plans, since that's my favorite place to shop for groceries.
As a new mother, I've browsed through most of the motherhood ebooks, and they are so encouraging!
The bundle is only available until 11:59 pm on Monday (April 27), so you don't want to wait. Click below to buy now or learn more about exactly what's in the bundle here, and definitely don't forget to forward me your receipt so you'll get an invitation to my exclusive webinar about how to create your own printables. (Here's the details about the exclusive webinar in case you missed the earlier post.)

I was reading my email and saw that you were going to show how to create a planner. I thought what the heck and got the bundle. I hadn’t been able to find one that had enough room to write; my handwriting is too big! I bought the bundle and I am so amazed how much is included 🙂 I am still getting all my items. So much to read and learn, thank you.

I really liked this particular update. I’ve been a regular follower for a while but just never found the right words to leave in a comment. Except this time your update made you seem so totally human (go ahead have a chuckle at my choice of words! lol ) that I just had to let you know how much I appreciate you for taking the time to let us readers in on your world. And I completely understand the suprise at still being in survival mode 8.5 months after the birth of your child. Ours is 9 months old now and we’re still stuck in it!!!
