Holiday Packing List – Free Printable!
I’ve been in a holiday mood lately, so I created this free printable packing list for the holidays which might be a tad over the top, but I love it! (Sidenote: If you want a packing list that isn’t quite so festive, check this out.) Our winter tree has been up for a couple weeks now, we wrapped most of our gifts last night, and I spent a lot of today baking gingerbread men and other cookies with my daughter.
Unfortunately, we live far away from our families so we always travel over the holidays. When I’m trying to get all packed and gather up everything for my husband and I, my 2 kids, and any gifts we need to take, having a list like this free printable packing list is essential!!
I usually have a packing list printed 1-3 weeks in advance and start filling it in as I think of things that I know need to be taken on our trip. That way I’m not trying to keep all the random things in my head. Or worse – I’m not actually forgetting things we need.
This printable packing list is a little different than some you might have seen. There are four columns with four empty headings. I intentionally left those headings blank so you can categorize your list however you would like.
Here are the categories I typically use when we’re going on a family trip: Mom & Dad stuff, Kid’s Stuff, Things for the Carry On (or to keep accessible inside the car for non-airplane trips), and Last Minute items.
The last minute category is my favorite. There are usually several things that I simply can’t pack until the morning we leave, so it’s nice to see those all at a glance. Those are things like my cell phone charger, the kid’s stuffed animals that they sleep with, our baby monitor, etc.
I printed this out on the blank pages that came with my Sweet Life Planner and put it in there so I always have it with me. I’ll add things as I think of them so my list will be almost complete by the time I’m ready to pack.
