GETTING LESS STRESS AND MORE PEACE IN YOUR LIFE WITH TASHA
In this episode, Tasha shares five organizing principles to carry us through the holidays and into the new year so we can all experience less stress and more peace at home.

- DECIDE WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT
The first principle is to decide what’s most important to you. Organizing, decluttering, and cleaning aren’t the ultimate goals—they’re simply tools to help you reach your deeper “why.”
Step back and remember what you’re really pursuing- peace in your homes, the ability to relax without stress, and strong relationships with those we live with. These goals are far more meaningful than a perfectly organized space.
- PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
Next, Tasha encourages us to pick up where we left off. It’s normal for motivation to ebb and flow. Life happens—sickness, busy schedules, vacations, or burnout can all cause pauses.
The key is to start again without guilt. Even if some progress has been lost, what matters most is the willingness to come back and take the next right step. Consistently returning to your goals, no matter how many breaks you take, ensures lasting progress.
- DON’T FRET ABOUT RE-DECLUTTERING
It’s completely normal to re-declutter and reorganize spaces. Our homes and needs change as our lives change. Tasha describes decluttering as a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it becomes.
Different seasons of life bring new priorities, whether it’s shifting hobbies, children moving in or out, or career changes. A space that once worked perfectly may need to be rethought later, and that’s not failure.
Tasha explains that as your decluttering muscle strengthens, decision-making becomes easier. You gain confidence in letting go of things you once hesitated to part with, and revisiting spaces becomes a normal part of maintaining your home.
- TAKE SMALL ACTIONS
When motivation is low, Tasha encourages taking small actions such as washing dishes, cleaning out a drawer, or folding laundry. She references Dawn from The Minimal Mom who shared that momentum matters more than motivation.
Even when you don’t feel like it, doing one small task builds momentum to keep going. And even if it doesn’t, you’ve still accomplished something.
- REMEMBER THE GOAL
Finally, Tasha reminds listeners to remember the real goal which is less stress and more peace. If a system or checklist is causing more anxiety than relief, it’s not serving its purpose.
There are countless systems for organization, cleaning, and time management, but they should never make you feel behind or pressured. A good system brings peace, not stress.
Less stress and more peace doesn’t mean everything is easy. There will still be unmotivated days, but true stress comes from chaos and lack of control—like realizing you have no clean socks in the morning. Systems should reduce that kind of stress, not add to it.
