Eat at Home Review: How I Meal Prep with Zero Stress
We all want to eat at home more, but that’s easier said than done. It tends to go a little more like this: you’ve had a busy day at work or caring for your kiddos, you’re exhausted, and now you have to make dinner. You open the fridge to make one of your favorite meatloaf recipes only to find out you’re missing the key ingredient! Now you have to scramble. And, if you’re anything like me, there’s a big temptation to just order pizza. Again. ?
What if I told you that there’s an easy, stress-free way to eat at home?
Eat at Home Meal Plans have changed the way I plan and shop for my meals. In the video below, I’ll walk you through the process of choosing your meal plans and you can even watch me make one of the delicious, easy recipes! (Spoiler alert: I make slow cooker chicken tacos that are quick, easy, and mouthwateringly tasty!)
Eat at Home: What is it?
Eat at Home Meal Plans is a service that provides meal recipes every month and takes the guesswork out of meal prep. Simply choose the right meal plan for you and your family, print your grocery list, and you’ll be eating easy, home cooked meals without the headache.
Eat at Home: Types of Meal Plans
There are four different types of meal plans Eat at Home offers and with your membership you get access to all four so you can mix and match meals to fit your family’s needs.
- Traditional: The traditional meal plan focuses on recipes the whole family can enjoy! A wide variety of balanced meals that are easy to whip up and kid friendly.
- Whole Food Plant Based: This plan is for those who want to focus their meals around veggies and whole grains. All the recipes here are free of meat, fish, milk, eggs, and cheese – a great option for our vegetarian and vegan friends!
- Slow Cooker / Instant Pot: This plan is all about recipes that can be cooked in your slow cooker (my personal favorite!) It’s highly recommended for busy families who struggle to find time to cook – busy moms, working families, or anyone who needs an easy “fix it and forget it” dinner. This plan also includes some dump dinners that you can fix ahead and store in your freezer! It really is a time-saver’s dream.
- No Flour No Sugar: This plan is great if you’re trying to eat healthier or if you need a low sugar, high protein diet to fit your health needs. Some of the specialties of this meal plan are the salad of the week and an easy protein option for nights when you need to whip something up quick.
Not only are the plans versatile, but you can see the whole month’s worth of meals at once and have easy access to previous recipes.
Eat at Home: Print and Shop!
When choosing your recipes, Eat at Home offers small and large serving options. The small plan serves 3-4 while the large plan serves 6-8. My family enjoys leftovers so I would occasionally use the 6-8 serving option so that I could cut back on my cooking and still have delicious food for my little crew.
Now, my favorite part about this service is the shopping list. I’ve never had such a pain-free grocery experience! The list is color coded by meal so you can see exactly what ingredients you need for each dish. The color coded system makes it easy to cross everything off your grocery list completely hassle free.
With the list, you can shop your way. Go to the store yourself, order in-store pickup, or use a service such as Instacart and have your groceries brought to you.
Eat at Home: My Favorites
The best part about Eat at Home for me is the slow cooker and instant pot recipe options. I haven’t found a meal planning service that offers those options and it was a game changer for my family. I was able to have dinner taken care of by 9 am and it was ready by 5 pm!
I also loved how easy the meals were. A lot of their meal options are ready in just 15 minutes! You don’t need to be a chef to be able to make healthy, hearty home cooked meals for your family.
