DIY Graduation Gift
It’s time for the Silhouette project monthly post again! This month I’m sharing a graduation gift idea. I know it’s probably a little past graduation season, but maybe you can tuck the idea away for next year.
I also love that this gift is affordable, which is especially helpful when you need to give a lot of graduation gifts.
I bought a black 8 by 10 frame from Family Dollar for $2 (regular price). Then I just took a normal piece of blue 8.5 by 11 cardstock and trimmed the side a little to fit in the frame.
I cut the globe image out of white vinyl. The image was straight from the Silhouette store. I then cut the quote out of black vinyl. Again, the quote was from the Silhouette store. I just add the name and class at the bottom in Bebas Neue font. I used to transfer tape to put the world on the blue paper and put that inside the frame.
I then put the quote on top of the glass. I think that gives the project a little more dimension.
That’s all there is to it! The whole project is less than $5, and it probably took me 20 minutes to make.

What a great Idea! Wish I had my Silhouette in May..I could have made this for my grandson who just graduated, but there are more grandkids coming up on the Big Day, so I am saving this one!

Such a gorgeous gift idea. Love how the saying ties in with the map and how it pops on the front of the frame!

I love it when gifts can be meaningful and well-made without taking a whole day and a half to put together. Pinning this for the future, so I can give it a try down the road! Thanks for the inspiration, Laura.

This is such a simple project, but what a great gift! I love that you put the text on top of the glass, like you said, it gives it dimension. Also, personalizing it with the name is a nice touch. I really like the fonts you chose, as well as the placement. And the paper you used. I just love it all. Great job!
