Cabinet Organization with Repositionable Labels
I recently redid all the labels in my above sink kitchen cabinet, and I’m so excited to share my system with you!
My labels had gotten a little out of control in this cabinet, because I use my containers as models when I photograph the labels for my shop. Therefore some of the containers had all different labels on all sides and none of the matched – definitely not cool!
I knew I wanted matching labels on everything. However, I have another challenge with this cabinet. I don’t always store the exact same things in the cabinet. My needs vary from time to time. There’s a few items items, like rice, beans, and spaghetti that I always have on hand. However, other things vary from time. Sometimes I store rotini in the container, but sometimes I have macaroni instead. Sometimes I’m on a smoothie kick and want to have flax seed on hand to throw in them, and other times I’m more in on a baking roll so I have graham cracker crumbs instead.
It’s a bit of a pain to remove the adhesive vinyl labels each time I switch out the contents, and then cut a new label. Fortunately, I found the perfect solution: the repositionable static cling label! They are easy to remove and put on somewhere else. However, the real key to this is that I put the static cling backing on my cabinet with some sticky tack:
That allows me a spot to store extra labels when they’re aren’t in use. When I remove a label, I can just stick in on there, and it will be waiting for me when I need it again. Problem solved!
You can see I have quite a collection of OXO containers, but I actually prefer Tupperware. I wrote all about the pros and cons of each here.
