Deck the Hauls: Amazon
I ordered a few things on Amazon, some inspired by IG and TikTok. Check out the video or keep reading to see what I bought and to get my first impressions of everything!
Car Paper Organizer
First up is this little organizer for your car papers. It has a pocket for registration, insurance card, and extra pockets for any other papers you'd like to store as well as a spot for a pen. It's a bit more, uh, sparkly, than I expected LOL, but it's thick and sturdy, and I will definitely use this in my car. It will keep the documents much more protected and easier to find quickly than just leaving them loose all over the glove box.
Vintage Bookshelf Games
Something I've been loving lately are these vintage bookshelf games. These are all classic games that have been re-made to fit in the same size containers that look like a book. They are definitely more expensive than the normal version, but they are SO MUCH CUTER! They totally look like decor! Also, the way they sit so neatly and uniformly on the shelf makes my heart happy. If you're tired of all the standard game boxes that are random sizes and don't stack neatly, then this might be worth the splurge for you, too.
Dryer Vent Cleaner
No, this is not a torture device. It's a little kit to help clean out the lint in your dryer vent. The end of this fits over your vacuum cleaner tube (I used the end of my battery stick vac), and then you stick the other end down into the lint trap of your dryer. It also has a wire attached to that end so you can easily poke it around to try to suck up stray lint that may be hanging out in your dryer duct/vent area. To be honest, I can't really tell if I got much…but lint buildup can be a dangerous fire hazard, so I plan to do this every three months or so just to try to prevent clogs that I can't really see.
Steam Cleaner
I've always been curious about these. There are several brands/models, but I bought the Bissell Steam Shot Deluxe. I've seen people use little steam cleaners to spot clean carpets, upholstery, tile, or even really sticky spots in the refrigerator. You should ALWAYS spot test on an inconspicuous spot, especially with upholstery, carpet, or fabrics. You can even use this one on clothes, and it comes with a ton of attachments (overkill on the attachments), but I probably will use this one just for cleaning and keep my clothing steamer separate.
The only disadvantage I can see here is that if it runs out of water, you have to wait five minutes for it to de-pressurize so you can safely open the machine to add more water. This would be annoying if you're doing huge jobs often, but for little jobs, it seems to work great.
I've had these little spots of blue paint on my carpet for a while now, and nothing has really been able to bring up the stain. It's not super obvious, but it's there if you know where to look. I tested this out on it, and in literally SECONDS, it brought up the blue. Honestly I'm a bit shocked. I can't wait to test this out on sticky stuff or other stains or messes! Check out the video if you want to see this in action!
